Youre not even sure who youre playing as until the end of the game. Even it struggles to be more than a deluxe ghost train, or that is writing is so-so at best, Layers of Fear 2 is a good choice for any psycho-horror enthusiasts, thanks to its clever mise-en-scne. Released in 2003 was a sequel to My Neighbor Totoro that seemingly no one knew. the environment… It feels the same from start to finish, there are still the shifting rooms of the first game, but these rooms just shift into basically the same room you just left, but this is far from my only problem… the story was so hard for me to follow… im either really dumb which is possible, or this story is completely pointless background noise of a mediocre haunted house experience. Steve Petite with IGN called it the most stunning. however way more linear… Instead of an abandoned house, layers of fear takes place on an abandoned ship which obviously means less chances to be innovative and keep the experience fresh, however there is the added element of the story that focuses around actors, storytelling, plays… There’s the opportunity to bring set pieces to life, and this opportunity just isn’t taken advantage of… My biggest issue with Layers of Fear 2 is the setting. Layers of Fear 2s reviews were mixed, with positive attention given to the overall story and aesthetic. Layers of Fear 2 is a strong improvement over the first game, what used to be a copy cat of a cult demo, has found it’s own identity.
#Layers of fear 2 metacritic simulator
I would consider this a more walking simulator type much like the first game. So overrated Layers of Fear 2 is a little over 4 hour long psychological horror game. If you enjoyed Layers of Fear 1, then this game might be for you? Expect nothing different from the first game.Layers of Fear 2 Disappointing It breaks my heart to put out this review as I love bloobr team, The first layers of fear game is easily in Layers of Fear 2 Disappointing It breaks my heart to put out this review as I love bloobr team, The first layers of fear game is easily in my top 5 horror games of all times, the atmosphere, the story telling, the mystery, the constant shifting environments… It’s so underrated… And here we are with the squeal, and it’s on the flipside. Now they did improve this game by adding in some sort of creature that will chase you every so often, but that's all they added to this game. That's really all this game is, so many jump scares that it will just make you feel numb to it and not give a shit for the rest of the game. There are CONSTANT jump scares in this game, sure it scared me the first few times but it got old so fast. The story isn't suspenseful, I didn't care about the characters that were introduced, nothing seemed at stake to push me to keep going. Just like the first game, the story is all confusing until you get to the end when all the pieces are put together and it just feels lazy.

I loved that but they sure did recycle the hell out of that formula in this sequel to where it becomes no surprise.Īs per last game, the story is mediocre, borderline bad. Just like the first Layers of Fear, it had the mind fucky transitions in settings you could be staring at a wall and you turn around and the location changes. I'm a lover for great horror games with good story telling and eerie settings. I have just about one thing to say about this game.
